Our Pastor
John Bell is the founding pastor of New City Baptist Church. Originally from the Thousand Islands, John graduated from Toronto Baptist Seminary and Bible College. Prior to planting New City, John was a deacon at Bath Road Baptist in Kingston and has ministered at Jarvis Street Baptist Church, Thistletown Baptist Church and Grace Toronto. John is married to his lovely wife, Jill.
Alongside pastoral ministry, John has been a guest-speaker for various ministries in the Toronto area, including Campus for Christ at Ryerson University and the University of Toronto as well as the People's Academy.
John has an active ministry in Toronto's gay community and has written about it as a guest-blogger for Challies.com.

An avid reader, you will most likely find him with a book by D. A. Carson or Jonathan Edwards in his hands. He also plays drums and is a music and American film buff. In the little spare time that he has, John has been writing a play.
New City, as a church plant, is also under the authority of the elders at Grace Fellowship Church of Toronto.
